My roommate - a several-time winner of Friday Night Magic - had the brilliant idea of crafting Christmas trees out of his massive stockpile of extra land cards. Here is the first of what I’m sure will be multiple attempts.

This blog was intended to be primarily a beading blog, but my first post is on a different, geeky craft I made. This is a blue felt die bag that I sewed the Blue Lantern Corps symbol on to.
I realize the symbol isn’t perfect, I didn’t have a pattern. I drew the symbol onto the bag in pencil (protip: don’t use a pencil to draw the symbol, use a washable fabric marker). The pencil marks didn’t show up very well and exacerbated the “wigging out” my eyes were already doing from the white on blue contrast of the thread.
I really liked this idea in theory. I’d like to try this project again but with a bigger die bag and preferably a needlepoint pattern to work from. Maybe I’ll have to create a pattern myself?
